I have been a licensed social worker and therapist since 2018, when I first started working with survivors of gender-based violence (intimate partner violence, human trafficking, female genital mutilation/cutting, and sexual assault). Since then, I have expanded my practice to attend to the needs of neurodivergent folks – many undiagnosed, self-diagnosed, or late-diagnosed – who were figuring out how to care for themselves and navigate their relationships and careers in ways that worked with their brains, rather than against them. I am myself a late-diagnosed ADHDer who comes from a highly neurodivergent family, so I am passionate about helping other neurodivergent folks to be their full, authentic selves. I also have specialized training in perinatal mental health (pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood) and have a brilliant, energetic toddler of my own so I remember this phase very well!
Through all my work, I have been honored to be many individuals’ first therapist – or their first therapist after bad or lukewarm experiences – and am most proud of the fact that so many of my clients cite their time in our sessions as what helped them to see the value of therapy. I am deeply committed to making sure my clients understand what we are doing in therapy and why, as well as attending to the pacing and approaches that feel natural and manageable to them. I am trained in CBT, parts work, somatic work, mindfulness, and compassion-focused therapy, and bring a combination of these to the table for each client, though the specifics are tailored to each person. As a creative person myself, I also welcome the use of art, movement, and music in session for those who find these languages resonate with them.
